At a party with an end-of-the-world theme, a guest find something disturbing in the bedroom where the coats are piled.
This had a little bit of the same feel as “The Invitation,” with some normal social awkwardness and anxiety suggesting something much darker is going on. Like most of the stories in “When Things Get Dark,” this one is subtle and suggestive, leaving more unsaid than said.
